How to check planner PDF links before an Etsy listing

Use the free Folory link checker to find broken destinations and pages with no internal links before a buyer opens the file in GoodNotes.

The refund you can see coming

A planner listing lives or dies on the taps. Buyers notice a month tab that does nothing faster than they notice a slightly uneven margin. The painful part is that the file can look perfect in Preview or Chrome and still have a destination that points past the last page, or a link that was never given a destination at all.

The Folory link checker reads the PDF in the browser and reports those cases. It does not upload the file. You can run it on a planner made in Folory, in Keynote, in Canva, or in a desktop linker.

What the report is telling you

Broken destination means a link annotation exists, but its target is not a page in this file. That includes a named destination that was never defined, and a page reference left behind after someone deleted a page.

Missing destination means the annotation is a link and has neither an action nor a destination. It will not go anywhere.

Remote links are URLs or links to a different file. They are listed so you know they are not internal tabs. A shop link in the back matter is fine. A tab that accidentally became a URL is not.

Pages with no internal links are a warning, not an error. A cover might only need one button, and a notes page might only need Home. A month page with zero outgoing links is the one to fix before you press publish.

What the checker cannot see

It does not know whether a rectangle sits on the button you drew or a centimeter to the left. It does not know that your Monday-start grid is numbered as if the week started on Sunday. Those are visual checks. After the report is clean, open the file on the tablet you mention in the listing and tap a day in the first month, a day in the last month, and each tab.

It also cannot repair the file. If you built the planner in Folory, go back to the template, move the hotspot, and export again. If you built it somewhere else, fix the link there and run the checker a second time. The report is a gate, not an editor.

A short pre-listing pass

Export the final PDF with proof outlines off. Run the checker. Confirm the broken count is zero. Skim the pages that have no internal links and make sure each one is supposed to be quiet. Download, import into GoodNotes or the app you name in the listing photos, and tap through one week. Then list it.

If you are dating next year’s edition of a planner you already sell, load the saved Folory project, change the year, and export. The hotspots come with it. Run the checker again anyway. A leap year adds a day, and February 29 needs a real page.
